Sr. SCADA-EMS-GMS Consultants

Due to the demand for our services in the marketplace, we are currently looking for experienced and qualified candidates with 10+ years experience with SCADA, EMS and GMS consulting positions in our SCADA and Energy Management Systems Practice at the Manager and Senior Manager levels.

Experience and Skills Requirements
Qualified Candidates should have 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Generation and Transmissions Engineering, Operations, Planning and Reliability
- SCADA, Generation Management Systems (GMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Historians
- Familiarity/Proficiency with SCADA, EMS and GMS vendor products including experience with Ventyx/ABB, Alstom Grid/Areva, GE Energy and OSI Siemens Energy
- Expertise with SCADA; Generation Control and Dispatch; Market Operations; Network Analysis; Equipment Outage Scheduler; Load, Price and Forecasting; Wind Forecasting; and Dispatcher Training Simulation functions
- Familiarity with Historian products including OSIsoft’s PI System and InStep’s eDNA products
The candidate should also have a strong understanding of:
- Power system modeling and analysis
- Power System Operations in the North American System including the role of the various entities in the NERC Reliability Model
- North American wholesale power markets including real-time operations and dispatch in these markets: PJM, MISO, ERCOT, CAISO, NEISO, etc
- Forecasting methodologies
- Integration of renewable resources
- System Implementation Lifecycle
- Business Requirements Gathering
- System Integration
- Project Management
This candidate will need to possess the ability to work on a project team while staying focused and multi-task in a fast-paced trading environment. The candidate will also need to possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with client personnel, senior management and the project team.
Other requirements include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related Engineering Discipline. MSEE Graduate Degree preferred
- Ability/willingness to travel Monday -Thursday (weekly) 90%
- Experience with SCADA/EMS/GMS vendors, Electric Utilities and/or Consulting Entities servicing this area preferred
- Strong experience with desktop applications in MS Office, MS Project and MS Visio
Job Description
The successful candidate will work as a member on one of the company’s SCADA, EMS, GMS and Historian Integration implementation teams supporting one or more of the following projects activities depending on experience:
- Work with customers to gather and develop technical requirements
- Lead the development of the customer’s Technical Specifications and RFPs
- Lead the vendor evaluation and selection process
- Lead the development of a vendor Statement of Work
- Support the development of gap analysis and system risk assessments
- Lead the implementation of the selected systems through the entire SDLC and including database and display development or conversion; design and build activities; system integration and testing; system cutover planning; support of parallel operations and/or trial cutover; training and documentation, user acceptance testing and system commissioning
