Mike Peterson, Managing Principal
- Michael Peterson is responsible for managing the overall direction and operations of The Structure Group, including strategy formulation and execution, communications, financial management and external partner relationships. Mike has more than 20 years of consulting experience. He has spent the past 15 years working specifically in the deregulated energy industry starting with privatization in the United Kingdom. Mike has extensive experience with the California, New England, and New York markets. He has worked in generation operations, trading, power scheduling, market settlements, and retail service operations. His consulting experience includes business definition, organization design, financial analysis, process design and systems development and implementation.
Lisa Blackwood, Vice President North American Consulting
- Lisa Blackwood is responsible for overseeing sales and account management for projects in Structure’s North American energy consulting practice. Her expertise is centered on large system integration projects in the electricity and gas industries. During her 15 years in the energy industry, Lisa has served clients in program and project management capacities in functional areas including trading, risk management, nomination/bidding/scheduling and settlements and billing. More recently, she has helped develop Structure’s newest nMarket product functionality for gas pipeline nominations, which will be introduced to the marketplace in 2006. In addition to her business development and account management duties, Lisa serves on the company’s executive management team. She has extensive experience in developing power markets in Europe as well, helping launch Structure’s European office and coordinating several projects between the North American and European practices.
Vikki Gates, Principal
- Vikki Gates has assisted some of the largest Regional Transmission Organizations and Investor Owned Utilities in North America prepare for competition by providing project management, facilitation, market rule development, system development, and implementation expertise. As a Principal with The Structure Group, Vikki monitors the development and implementation of competitive wholesale and retail electric markets across the Midwest, Southeast and Texas and oversees large system implementation and business process project teams in those regions. She has extensive experience with the development of the Texas market for both the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and the Southeastern Electric Reliability Council (SERC) regions by serving as market trials coordinator for the ERCOT Region and facilitating market participant protocol development for Entergy Texas. Vikki has served as the Independent Coordinator of the Texas Nodal market development for ERCOT. As the Independent Coordinator, her responsibilities included facilitating steering committee meetings on nodal market design with the ERCOT stakeholders, reporting status to the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT), and coordinating stakeholder education. Prior to joining The Structure Group, Vikki was employed by Ernst & Young in the management consulting practice and assisted clients in the design and development of processes and systems to support competitive markets in California and Ontario.
Amy Zupon, Vice President Software Development
- Amy Zupon is responsible for Structures North American Software Development Center in the companys Houston office. This group of more than 80 software professionals focuses on the development, maintenance and support of Structures nMarket product suite, the energy industrys most proven software platform for transaction management in todays wholesale energy markets. nMarket provides support for eight regional power markets and was recently enhanced to include support for gas pipeline nominations. Amy brings more than 10 years of software management experience to Structure. In her time with Structure, Amy has been instrumental in the development of Structures software operations, including the creation of an annual users group meeting for nMarket customers, a comprehensive training program for customers, and a high quality development and customer support center that services more than 100 customers. In addition to her software leadership responsibilities, Amy serves on the companys executive management team.
Michael Cutler, Principal
- Michael Cutler is responsible for client sales and delivery primarily in the West. He managed the first nMarket product development and delivery in 1999. He was in charge of Structure’s first software development office in Sacramento. He and his crew then moved the software group to its current Houston location and opened Structure's Houston headquarters in the summer of 2000. Mike initiated and helped grow the company’s public power offerings and is focusing on meeting client needs through the California market redesign. Mike combines a strong executive management and delivery record with energy market experience and competitive power market expertise.
Lou Perrelli, Principal
- Lou Perrelli is responsible for managing Structure’s asset management practice (AMP.) His focus is on setting strategy, business development, sales and operations. Lou has experience in founding companies and ongoing operations in enterprise technology software and service companies. Lou was one of the founders of Indus International (now Ventyx) in San Francisco and was responsible for worldwide business development and sales of the Indus PassPort suite of products into the Utility and Energy industries.
David Shepheard, Vice President Solutions Group
- David Shepheard joined Structure as a founding member at its inception in April 1998. In his current role as Vice President for Solutions, he oversees the development and growth of Structure’s Solutions Business, which aligns Structure’s skills and capabilities with high-growth areas within the energy sector to create Practice Areas. Structure’s current Practice Areas include: Asset Management, Energy Trading and Risk Management, Asset Operation and Optimization, and Market Solutions. David has over 16 years of experience working in energy markets across North America and in Europe with companies spanning the energy value chain, from generators and power marketers, to ISOs and power exchanges, to transmission and distribution companies and retail energy providers.
Mark Von Weihe, Principal
- Mark Von Weihe is responsible for sales and account management in Structure’s North American energy consulting practice. Mark works with clients in the East and focuses on financial services participants. Mark has extensive experience providing valuable solutions to the trading desk and operations. Since starting with Structure in 1998, Mark has developed a detail understanding of process and technology challenges that face market participants. His client experience includes power market operators, power and gas marketers, utilities, banks, and private equity.
Lelon Winstead, Principal
- Lelon Winstead is responsible for sales and account management for projects in Structure’s North American energy consulting practice. Lelon is the company’s business development lead in the New York market, and works with clients participating the California, Midwest, New York, New England, PJM and SPP power markets. Lelon has more than 15 years' experience in software development, product management and executive management.
Stacey Wood, Principal
- Stacey Wood is responsible for consulting and software service engagements for wholesale power and natural gas markets and retailers primarily in Texas and the Midwest. Stacey has led successful consulting projects around operational improvement. She is a key contributor to expanding Structure’s product footprint through her ability to understand underlying client requirements and translate into product capabilities. Stacey is now taking the lead in expanding Structure’s consulting practice by working with clients to implement solutions to reduce manual processes, increase data accuracy and minimize market based exposure to the business. Stacey joined Structure 2001 and was promoted to principal in 2005. Stacey has more than 20 years of energy and consulting experience. She has also served on NAESB’s board representing the Retail Electric Quadrant.
