You need not fall prey to unforeseen challenges. Proactive, creative thought leadership combined with focused energy expertise can assure your readiness.
NERC has adopted a cyber security standard, NERC CIP, which outlines the minimum requirements needed to ensure the security of electronic exchange of information needed to support grid reliability and market operations. These standards are due to take effect in June 2006. All electric generation and transmission companies and independent system operators (ISOs) will be expected to comply.

To date, CIOs and CSOs have relied heavily on manual resources (internal/external) and brute force to become compliant. Many companies who tried to do the minimum to receive a passing grade from auditors the first time around are finding that a frenzied, manual, resource-intensive approach isn’t sustainable or desirable.
The Structure Group provides a complete NERC CIP assessment, strategy and implementation plan that includes executive summaries through technical details for IT personnel. First we will identify compliance gaps and assess your policies, practices and systems. We will then help you prepare for and pass your audit. Our experienced consultants will provide pertinent facts tailored to the groups affected. We give our clients recommendations ranked by effectiveness and weigh costs versus benefits. We are also vendor agnostic to give you freedom of choice. Our goal is to help you come out smarter, not just compliant.
